ALIEF SUPER NEIGHBORHOOD MEETING
Minutes for Tuesday, October 28, 2014
The regular monthly ASNC#25 meeting was held October 28, 7:00 PM, at the Centerpoint Energy Building, 12330 Bellaire Blvd.
Chairperson4 Barbara Quattro called the meeting to order at 7:05 P.M. Roll Call of Council members was done by sign-in sheet. A quorum was not met (see attached).
GUESTS: Veronica Hernandez (COH Mayor’s office); Catherine Le (Congressman Al Green’s office; HPD Officer Neal Maurer; Chris Gustafson (Councilman Costello’s office); Laverne Moore and Karen Dunn (Affordable Care Act) and several representatives from local HOA’s.
HOSPITALITY:–Hospitality was provided by ASNC for this meeting. Hospitality providers are encouraged to volunteer.
COMMITTEE & STANDING REPORTS
CHAIRS REPORT: Barbara Quattro.
TREASURER’S REPORT –Current balance $1830
ELECTIONS/NOMINATING COMMITTEE No input.
PROJECTS/SNAP COMMITTEE: No input.
HPD Officer Neil Maurer, Westside: – Officer Mike Prause reported local crime statistics noting that most crime was down for the year but BMV and auto theft was up. There were twelve murders year to date.
Karen Dunn and Laverne Moore, Gateway to Care Staff Ms. Moore and Dunn presented information and literature on the Affordable Care Act, explaining the how to’s and where to apply for the Affordable Care provided by the US Government. They provided the website to further investigate the costs and service of this organization as www.healthcare.gov. Questions were answered from the floor.
UPCOMING SPEAKERS- The following speakers are scheduled:
November Victor Cordova, City of Houston Parks Dept. Date changed to third Tuesday for November due to Thanksgiving holiday
December No meeting

• Bear Creek Community Center is again offering numerous classes including AARP defensive driving
The meeting adjourned at 8:30 PM. Attendees were encouraged to talk to speakers and guests after the meeting
